DOULA SERVICES ON HOLD -- Booking Again June 2020
I will not be contracting PRIMARY clients but I will be supporting as a BACKUP doula for clients until after I graduate from nursing school in May 2020.

I will continue to teach yoga & childbirth education as well as conduct birth plan consults.

As a trained professional birth and postpartum doula, I support a birthing individual in labor to help ensure a safe, satisfying, and memorable birth experience.  My aim as a conscious birth advocate is to assist in pregnancy, during childbirth and the weeks that follow by providing consistent, continuous reassurance, comfort, encouragement and respect through individualized care based on circumstances and preferences.

I am independent and self-employed -- as your doula, I work for you, not your caregiver or hospital.

My goal is for you to feel nurtured and cared for during your birth experience!

My role focuses on providing childbirth education, emotional and informational support, perspective, suggestions for labor progress, relaxation techniques, gentle massage, physical (non-medical) positioning laboring guidance, breastfeeding, postpartum and newborn assistance.

What I Offer

  • At least two 1-hour prenatal visits ($50/hour for any visits over three)

  • Birth Journal

  • Lightweight and breathable Sleep Mask

  • Pashmina Birthing Scarf in Birth Color (6 Foot)

  • On-call at 38 weeks until birth of the baby

  • Phone and email support during pregnancy and after

  • Continuous support during labor

  • Assist partner with comfort measures

  • Stay for at least an hour after birth of your baby

  • Answer postpartum and newborn care questions

  • Help with initial breastfeeding, if desired

  • Follow-up with a 1-hour postpartum home visit, 1-2 weeks after birth

  • Available for questions and resource referrals during your postpartum period

  • Postpartum Herbal Sitz Bath

  • Custom HeaHerbal Tea Blend

Limitations

 of a Doula

  • A doula will not perform clinical tasks (such as fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, etc.)

  • A doula can not make decisions for you --  including when to go to the hospital.

I am committed to helping you and your partner to get the information necessary to make informed decisions, both during pregnancy as well as during your labor and birth.

I will also help to gently remind you if there is a departure from the expressed birth preferences/birth plan.

I will discuss questions and concerns, suggest options, and tactfully help you speak to the staff directly and help you feel empowered to make decisions regarding birth.
